• Release the primary hood latch of your vehicle. You can find it on the driver side of the kick panel. Make sure that you have switched off the engine and vehicle in gear.
• Now apply the parking brakes.
• Get under the center of the hood and lift up the secondary hood release latch using a finger. Lift the roof and then hold it up on top of the hood prop rod positioned on the passenger side front fender rail.
• Place the air box on the driver’s side of the engine compartment.
• Lift the air box except its tab because you need those tabs to unlock them.
• Lift up the box cover to a high position to remove the old air filter from that box.
• Insert the new air filter into the box housing with the pleats of the filter.
• Reinstall the air box cover onto its housing and make sure you align it properly. Clip the box cover keeping the tabs back in place and press the tab downward to lock the cover onto its position.
• Raise up the hood to disconnect the hood prop rod, then place back the rod into its clip on the passenger side fender rail. Close the hood.
